I photographed the Hacienda and Tony Wilson in 1996 this was a year before the famous night club shut its doors for the last time.
I took this iconic photograph of THE HACIENDA FAC51 club, its doors shut for the last time in 1997. The last event was an exhibition of photographs by photographer Jill Furmanovsky of the emerging Manchester band Oasis. In the words of Tony Wilson “Manchester Kids have the best record collections” how fitting to end the Hacienda Club with its music, culture and iconic nights to pass down to Oasis the kids from Manchester.
